Romans 12: 1-2.

After 11 chapters of explanation, there is no doubt in Paul’s mind: “in view of God’s mercy” we need to live transformed lives – we need to be “Living the Gospel”! The transformation he speaks of in these two verses is about moving away from the ways of the world, and moving into all that we have in Christ. That doesn’t take us “out of the world” though as Paul’s missional focus is a clear as ever: we’re to live as the transformed people of God according to the will of God. That will always include God’s people being involved with the spread of the gospel so that more people will respond in faith. What does that mean for us today as God’s church, called together with the purpose of “Offering the transforming love of Jesus Christ in the realities of life”?
