Colossians 1: 15 – 23.

In his letter to the Colossians, Paul addresses head on what biblical scholars call “The Colossian Heresy”. The small church that emerged through the mission and ministry of Epaphras came under repeated attack from those who sought to dissuade people from maintaining a consistent focus on Christ as the head of all things. He explains that when a strong connection to The Head (Christ) is broken or made difficult, then fullness, growth and reconciliation will become difficult.

Therefore, Paul brings a core focus into his letter on the responsibility that the church has to set an example of how belonging can be embraced by all people, rather than people being rejected whilst the church unhelpfully focuses on some aspects of perceived “wrong living”, whilst happily choosing to overlook others.

When “Church Rebooted” is responded to fully, it will reconcile the world!
