Acts 16: 1 – 15.

It is easy to read the opening verses of Acts 16 as if Paul was doing exactly what he wanted, when he wanted, and how he wanted (1-5). But we know from the full breadth of Paul’s teaching that he constantly let the Holy Spirit guide him, and that he responded with obedience. When he came up against opposition, he didn’t give up but persevered for the sake of the gospel, continually seeking God in all things.

That can only happen for us when we let the Holy Spirit guide us with a clear vision that moves us from unbelief to a Spirit-filled assurance of faith as “imitators of God” (Eph. 5:1).
