Hosea 11 to 14.

After a strong word at the start of Hosea about faithfulness and the sincerity of our love, these chapters focus on enabling God’s people to know His love and how to relate to Him. The language used is that of a parent to child, where love is offered freely, and those listening have an opportunity to respond. Reading Hosea in light of what we know now about Jesus, a paraphrase of chapter 14 could read: “Return to Me my precious child. I have loved you from the moment you were born and will go on loving you forever. I am your God. I paid the price to rescue you and it cost Me My Son, you mean that much to me. Return to me so that I can Father you with My faithfulness, love and compassion”.
